Service: 2 o'clock Tuesday, May 8, 2018 Place: Conyers Church of Christ Visitation: 5-8, Monday May 7, 2018 Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Charles Edward Mahan, age 81, of Lithonia, died May 3, 2018. A native of Bibb County Alabama, he attended Conyers High School, Class of 1955; graduated from Georgia State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree; served honorably in the Army National Guard in the early 1960's, and was a long-time member, teacher, deacon and elder at the Conyers Church of Christ. He retired as an inventory controller and production planner from Printpack in 2011. Charles enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, traveling, and Alabama football - Roll Tide Roll! He never met a stranger, was always willing to help anyone, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a proud member of the Tall Guys Club. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Evelyn Mahan of Covington. He is survived by his wife, Joan Poole Mahan of Lithonia; son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Lynn Mahan of Conyers; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Brad Dunn of Grayson; grandsons, Tyler and Ross Mahan of Conyers and Nicolas Dunn of Grayson; granddaughters, Kayleigh and Emma Dunn of Grayson; sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Terry Bishop of Lawrenceville; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Doug Garner of Covington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Jackie McWilliams, Horace and Judy Dobbs, and Tommy and June Poole; and numerous nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock Tuesday, May 8, at the Conyers Church of Christ with Ministers Bobby Gayton, Jeff Johnson and Bobby Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Turner Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-8 Monday evening, May 7, at Henry Funeral Home in Lithonia. The family will also receive friends from 1-2 prior to the funeral service, at the church.
