Carl Rayborn Moore, Jr., age 92, of Lithonia died December 11, 2020. Born and raised in Stone Mountain, Red was a graduate of Stone Mountain High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Post WWII; and again during the war in Korea. Red retired from Delta Airlines as an aircraft engine mechanic with over 27 years of service. He was a longtime member of Union Grove Baptist Church. His passion was gardening and he and his sons owned and operated "Farmer Red's Berry Farm" and "Christmas Tree Farm." Red was know to friends and neighbors as producer of the best vegetables in the area. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Clara Mae Wilson Moore, also known as "Mae Mae"; daughter, Cheryl Patterson; sisters, Geneva Neal and Mamie Simons; and brother, J.E. Turner. Surviving are his sons and their wives, Walter and Joan Moore of Mableton, and Carl and Denise Moore of Conyers; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, December 15, at East Lithonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Chupp officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Georgia Baptist Children's Home.
