Carl M. Farrill, Jr., of Lithonia, Georgia, died September 3, 2023, at the age of 91. A dedicated and reliable man, Carl was well known as the owner and operator of Farrill's Union 76 Full-Service Gas Station, a staple in the Lithonia community for 30 years. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Lithonia and the Lithonia Masonic Lodge #84 F. & A.M. "Papaw", as he was affectionately known, cherished his family above all else and shared an extra-special bond with his great-grandson, Easton. He was always ready to give his pointers to his great-granddaughter, Rylee Mae, when she played softball. He loved the outdoors and traveling to the Casino with his wife of 58 years, Eva, who preceded him in death. In addition, music from the 60s was his favorite, and he found great pleasure in riding down back country roads and eating countless lunches at Mamie's Kitchen and Chow Dog.
Also preceding him in death were his daughter, Carla Miles; sister, Nonagene Daniel; and his treasured Boston Terrier, Gizmo. Survivors include his grandchildren, Amanda White and her husband, Billy, Bridget Rutledge and Mitchell Miles; great-grandchildren, Rylee Mae and Easton White, Alyssa, Colton and Eva Rutledge; son-in-law, Mitchell Miles; and three nephews.
A memorial service to honor Carl's life will be held 12 o'clock, Friday, September 8, 2023, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the First Baptist Church of Lithonia in his memory.
