Calvin Cody, Conyers resident, passed away August 19, 2026, at the age of 74. Born March 24, 1952, to the late Clinton Boyd Cody and Mary Lou Payne Cody, he was a lifelong Georgia boy. Calvin graduated from Lithonia High School in 1970 where he was an outstanding athlete.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved football. His trade was master carpentry, but to him, it was an art. His skill as a carpenter was matched by his determination and practical nature, and the things he built and repaired became a lasting reflection of his ability and craftsmanship. He was regarded as one of the best around. A simple country man at heart, Calvin believed most problems could be solved with two things: Duct tape and Permabond!
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his four sons, Shawn Cody, Shane Cody, Jason Cody (Sheena), Jeremy Cody; sisters, Brenda Maddox, Carol Rose (Johnny) and Arlene Turner; brother, Wayne Cody; grandchildren, Jordan Cody, Jaylen Cody, Loralei Cody, Zephyr Cody, Emma Cody and Eric Cody; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
Calvin will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his talent with his hands, his enjoyment of a good football game, and his straightforward, country way of looking at life.
