Bobby A. Ragsdale, age 86, of Conyers, died Monday, March 16, 2020. Born in Lithonia to Ora Mel and Ernest Ragsdale, he was a graduate of Lithonia High School, Class of 1952 and worked for Atlanta Gas Light Company for many years. Bobby loved the outdoors (fishing and hunting) and always had a good garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with his wife, Eula. Bobby was a man of his word and loved his Lord. During his younger years he was a member of Turner Hill Baptist Church and after he was married, he joined Macedonia Baptist Church, where he was a member until his death. Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Sylvia Smith and his sister, Rachel George. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Eula Clarke Ragsdale; daughter, Shirley McAnally and her husband, David, of Burleson, Texas; brother, Bill Ragsdale and his wife, Virginia, of Tucker; sister, Evelyn Reagan of Lithonia; son-in-law, Dan Smith of Conyers; grandchildren, Farley Jenkins, Christy Brown and her husband, Andrew, Sarah Miller and her husband, Daniel, and Davis McAnally; great-grandchildren, Delilah, Ingrid and Perseus. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, March 19, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 3420 Panola Road, Lithonia, with Rev. Kenneth Hughes and Rev. Ryan Parr officiating. The remains will be placed in state at the church from 10:15-10:45, at which time the family will receive friends. The interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
