William Anthony King, Sr. (Bill or Billy), age 88 of Covington, Georgia, died February 9, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born in Lithonia to Ledford and Ola King. Bill was a graduate of Stone Mountain High School class of 1950. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1951-1955, during this time he married the love of his life, Jo Kelley, on May 1, 1954. Bill graduated from Georgia State in 1959. He was a businessman and Jack-of-all trades. He was a son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, granddad, and friend to everyone. His smile was contagious. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy King and Larry King; and sister, Ellen Stewart. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Jo Kelley King; sons, Tony King and his wife, Sherry, of Loganville and Brad King of Waxhaw, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dr. Michael King, Kristen King, Taylor King, Caroline King, and Hunter King; two step grandchildren, Ashley Mulhausen and Lewis Smith; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was loved my many. A memorial service will be held 3 o'clock, Saturday, February 20, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jan McCoy officiating. The family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The Inurnment will take place at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
