Mrs. Betty B. Ledford, age 92, of Lithonia, Georgia, died December 24, 2024. Born on October 21, 1932, in Cartersville, Georgia, she was known for her loving nature and thoughtful consideration for others.
Her grandchildren will always remember when their love for skating led her to get a job working concessions at the local skating rink. She loved fishing with the grandchildren and would often take them to Lake Allatoona to spend the night in the military cabins there. Her grandson, Dustin, recalls how she lovingly taught him the phrase "I love you most," to which he would reply "I love you best," a sentiment he now shares with his own son. These simple words, passed down from generation to generation, are a testament to the importance of family in Betty's life. She was a remarkable cook and homemaker, always ensuring that her loved ones were well-fed and cared for. Although attempted many times by her granddaughter, Shannan, her steak biscuits and gravy remain un-matched!
Mrs. Ledford was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Ledford; and all of her children, Linda Gilmer, Ricky Ledford, Bobby Ledford, Gregory Ledford. She is survived by her grandchildren, Shannan Ledford Wilbanks, Dustin Ledford, Forrest Silverwood, Aurora Silverwood, Alexander Silverwood and several great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock, at Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia.
