Betty Kitchens

Betty Jo Kitchens, age 76, of Conyers, Georgia, died June 4, 2024. Born in Lithonia, GA, on July 19, 1947, Betty was a compassionate and loving figure who held a special place in the hearts of many, especially her family. Having spent her career as a bookkeeper for Benise-Dowling Associates, she was a respected professional. Beyond her professional accomplishments, what mattered most to her was family. Her selfless nature and caring spirit were evident in her every interaction. She loved collecting owls and lighthouses and they brought her great joy. Her hobbies included spending time with her grandkids, going antique shopping and watching her husband drag race. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard & Louise Skinner; husband, Sidney Kitchens, Jr; son, Trever Kitchens, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Marlena Coker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Ann (Jim) Squire, Jeanette (Terry) Martin; brothers, Wayne Skinner, Robert (Debbie) Skinner; grandchildren, Lauren Behrend, Trever Kitchens, Jr., and Shane Coker. A funeral service to honor her life will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, June 20, 2024, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, with interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, Conyers. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home, from 10:30 - 11 AM.
