Benjamin Harold Cuttino, Jr., age 80, resident of Clayton, Georgia, died Saturday, May 17th, 2025. Formerly of Conyers, Georgia, "Hal", as he was known to most, was born in Tampa, Florida, to the now late Benjamin H. Cuttino, Sr., and Juanita Woodham Cuttino on February 14, 1945. God gave Hal this birthday because He knew the charming and lovable man He'd created. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy, Hal spent 25 years as a Supervisor at Bank of America, before his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Lithonia, an avid supporter of Clemson Tigers Football (his alma mater) and the Atlanta Braves. In his retired years, Hal became a professional "relaxer" and loved a good recliner. He also enjoyed spending his free time playing golf and tennis, amateur gardening (which meant he propagated anything he could dig up!), and creating a lot of great memories with his friends, family and his extended family that he cherished and adored. Hal had an incredible memory, was a great dancer and was a joy to be around.
Being a "family man" was a role he took very seriously and embodied the title in every sense. After the death of his sister in the 1960's, he went above and beyond taking care of his parents until both of their deaths. As a husband, Hal was extremely loving, loyal, kind and never spoke a harsh word to his beloved wife, Sally. As a father, he was a role model teaching patience, kindness and to live by the golden rule, "treat others the way you would want to be treated". Hal was a believer in Jesus Christ and lived out the commandment to "love one another". Hal was so easy to love and spoil and will be sorely missed here on earth, but his family is rejoicing that he will spend his eternal life in heaven.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anita Colleen Cuttino. Survivors include his wife of almost 54 years, Sally Cuttino; daughter and son-in-law, Beth & Chris Collins; son and daughter-in-law, Ben & Angie Cuttino; grandchildren, Logan Collins, Ben Cuttino, Jr., Brooke Collins, Charlie Cuttino; great-grandchildren, Lynlee Collins, Asher Craig, Sadie Jo Craig; as well as extended family.
A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, May 22, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, with Pastor Bob Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 2284 Candler Road, Decatur. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 22, two hours prior to the service, from 11-1 PM, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund, PO Box 485, Rabun Gap, GA 30568, www.sidwebercancerfund.org.
