Ben Ike Sparks, Sr., age 56, of Lithonia, died March 5, 2020. Born in Elberton, Georgia, to Sara and A. L. Sparks, Sr., the family later moved to Lithonia, where he attended Lithonia High School. Ben loved baseball and played for many years at Rock Chapel Park where he made the all-star team. He also loved music; playing his guitar; fishing; and spending time with his family and friends. His son, Ben, Jr., and granddaughter, Natalie, were the pride of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Billy and Rodney Sparks. Surviving are his son, Ben Ike Sparks, Jr. of Newborn; brothers, A. L. Sparks, Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Stockbridge, Joe Sparks and his wife, Elizabeth, of Conyers, and Charles Sparks and his wife, Mitzi, of Social Circle; sister, Terry Barnett and her husband, Johnny, of Mt. Zion; granddaughter, Natalie Sparks; and nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 6-8, Friday, March 13, at Henry Funeral Home, with a graveside service following at 2 o'clock, Saturday, March 14, at Warrenton Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Abbeville, SC, with his brother, A. L. Sparks, Jr. officiating.
