Born Dominique Quiana Garrett, Bella-Donna was born to parents, Donna and Tyrone Garrett at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, on May 7, 1983, at 6:50am. She was born with a full head of dark straight hair and was a beautiful 7lb 7oz girl. Domnique grew up in Brooklyn, NY. The youngest at the time, Bella-Donna was always very busy with social events and activities in Church; she attended Sunday School and sang in the Sunday School chorus at Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Bella-Donna attended elementary school at P.S. 235, Middle school at Phillip P. Schyler, and High School at Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, New York. Bella-Donna attended college at SUNY Canton and desired a career as a veterinarian; her love for animals led her to find employment at an Animal Hospital caring for animals and adopting pets until an unfortunate car accident changed her life and left her with a traumatic brain injury. However, Bella-Donna was a fighter and refused to let her disabilities limit her freedom. Bella-Dona worked hard to regain her life and livelihood, lived independently, met and married her husband, Lawrence Logan, and had three beautiful children. Bella- Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Logan; her loving grandmother, Sylvia Thwaites; grandfathers, Lorenzo McBean and Wister Paul Garrett; her loving Aunt Kimberly L. Garrett. Bella-Donna left behind her children, Lawrence Logan, Jr., Lauren Logan and Garrett Logan, of Brooklyn, NY; her mother, Donna T. Houston and her life partner, John Tipton, of Lithonia, GA; her father, Tyrone J. Garrett of NY; her siblings, Tyronna (Tonni) Garrett, of Brooklyn, NY, Jamila (Shani) Best and her husband, Andre, of Queens, NY, Sylver T. Clarke and husband, Tremaine, of San Diego, CA, Ashley D. Thwaites, also of San Diego, CA, and Jabari Welch of Georgia; her grandmother, Leanease Garrett, Uncle Paul Kevin Garrett and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3 o'clock, Saturday, March 25, 2023, with Pastor K. Francis officiating in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church Street, Lithonia, GA 30058.
