Barbara Ruth Cook Leverett, age 85, of Stockbridge, formerly of Lithonia, died Friday October 12, 2018. Born and raised in Oxford, Barbara was a graduate of Covington High School. She was a homemaker and long-time resident of Lithonia and member of St. John Baptist Church. Mrs. Leverett was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul Leverett, and her sister, Joyce Mason. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Wilkins and her husband, John, of Stockbridge. A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock Sunday, October 14, at St. John Baptist Church, 4948 Wilkins Rd, Decatur GA 30035, with remains placed in state at 2:30. Rev Tommy Dunn, Rev. Jeff Simmons and Jimmy Nesbit will officiate. Burial will follow at Lorraine Assembly of God Church Cemetery, 4140 Union Church Rd, McDonough GA 30252. The family will receive friends 5-8 Saturday evening at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
