Asa Wright Howard, age 64, died Sunday morning, June 8, 2014. Born January 23, 1950, he grew up in Lithonia and was a 1968 graduate of Lithonia High School where he participated in football and wrestling. Asa graduated from Georgia Southwestern College and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He retired as Regional Sales Manager from Computer Associates. Asa served his country in the U.S. Army reserves, enjoyed Georgia and Ole Miss Football, a good cigar, and was an avid runner in the past. He was preceded in death by father, Paul Wright Howard, Jr. He is survived by children, Kim Howard Popwell and her husband, Andy; Brian Howard, Travis Howard, and Melissa Howard; mother, Iris Howard; sister, Jill Howard Sax and her husband, Dan; 7 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, June 10, at the First Baptist Church of Lithonia, with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Lithonia City Cemetery.
