Ann Rogers Whatley, age 83 of Lithonia, died January 8, 2022. Born and raised in Lithonia, she was the daughter of Milton and Lois Marie Eberhardt Rogers. Ann was a graduate of Lithonia High School, class of '56. She worked for Penco Electric Company and was a member of Lithonia First United Methodist Church for many years. Ann was a very active member of the city of Lithonia, attending most of the town meetings concerning the city. Ann loved her town and began collecting memorabilia, pictures and stories concerning the history of her town. If you wanted to know anything about the history of Lithonia, you would ask Ann. She also loved to collect dolls, and complete sets of older dishes. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil A. Whatley, Jr.; parents, Milton and Lois Rogers; and sister, Betty Thompson. Surviving are her daughter, Judy English; grandchildren, Lindsay (Josh) Ferreira, Ashley Uryga, and Colin (Kayla) English; 6 great grandchildren, Halle, Hayden, Josh, Avery, Lucy, and Emma; and Glenn Claxton, who Ann considered as her son. A graveside service will be held 1 o'clock, Friday at Lithonia City Cemetery with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Receiving of friends will be held 11:30-12:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
